Storm Recovery

Severe storms, including hurricanes and tornadoes, can leave behind massive amounts of downed trees and storm-damaged forests, creating safety hazards, increasing wildfire risk, and accelerating carbon release as the wood decays.

Clearing storm-damaged trees is often logistically complex and financially burdensome for landowners, municipalities, and disaster response teams. Without a viable use for this biomass, much of it is either left to rot, burned, or sent to landfills—releasing carbon back into the atmosphere.

Wood Vaults provide a sustainable alternative by creating a pathway for storm-downed trees to be recovered and permanently stored. This prevents their carbon from returning to the atmosphere while also reducing fire risk and freeing up land for recovery and replanting.
