Deployment Manager

The Role

Reporting to the CEO, the Deployment Manager will be responsible for leading the first full scale Wood Vault deployment and subsequent scaling of CLP-led projects. Working closely with the Research and Development Department, you will build and lead a team that designs, deploys new sites in a highly scalable fashion. You will be responsible for all aspects of site readiness – contract negotiation with site hosts, permitting feasibility assessments, managing construction.

This is a unique position that will require strong skills in project management and experiences gained in other industries (i.e. renewable energy, construction, manufacturing, industrials) to be applied and modified to fit CLP needs. The Deployment Manager will wear multiple hats and serve as an agile and critical member of the CLP leadership team.

What you will do

o   Develop and manage pipeline of potential new sites.

o   Work closely with the Research and Development Department on Wood Vault design.

o   Work with partners and contractors to secure wood sources.

o   Develop, refine and manage comprehensive site analysis and due diligence.

o   Lead efforts to obtain all necessary approvals from permitting authorities.

o   Work with other team members and outside attorneys to draft, negotiate and execute site host agreements.

o   Work closely with other team members to assess and manage project budget and timeline.

o   Manage project execution from Wood Vault excavation to enclosure to site restoration.

What you will bring

o   Highly collaborative mindset and strong communication skills.

o   Experience in a construction environment.

o   Has worked on a project from site selection to execution.

o   An ability to “just get it done."

o   Ability to examine all the relevant information related to a decision, weigh the pros and cons of each potential option, and choose the best option for the project and staff.

o   Experience in contracts, real estate, utility planning, and local permitting preferred.


Work Location

CLP will be implementing projects globally in the coming years , however for the initial year (2023) this position will require strong physical presence in the Washington DC, Maryland and Northern Virginia area (DMV).
